I have a 156 2.4jtd it needs so much work done to it and dont know what to do!
i posted a post on here the other day saying the car had a noisey tensioner!
I have traced this down to being the crank shaft pulley i think!!!!, heres a list of work the car needs doing,

Needs new clutch and flywheel i have already bought this but not fitted
noisey suspension and ARB
major oil leak
cv boots split
sometimes car doesnt start in mornings just clicking sound

And know the crank shaft pulley i dont really want to spend another £100 plus
to find out its not the problem or i have damaged the crank and sensors etc

so its fix or scrap what to do!!!

I changed that tensioner last year the spring one I removed the belt so i think its coming from crank pulley or its internal,

The noise was happening to me when I was putting air con even if I put the back window heater on! Any load what so ever I took the belt off and traced it to the crank pulley, I'm gutted I think I'm going to have to scrap it, the car looks lovely no dents and polishes up lovely!

The clutch is slipping in 5th and get judder when pulling off, I got a conversion kit smf from autolusso, I think I will try and sell this on! I bought a little fiat seicento to get me to work while I do the work then this other pulley went, its one thing after another with the car,

Hi captain, I want to keep the car I suppose I'm crying for help! I'm 99% sure its the pulley as there nothing else turning as the belts off and noise is there, I'm all up for fixing her but can't keep throwing money at her to find out there's damage in the crank, I'm on a budget with wife and two baby's and can't waste £130 on a part, I love the car best car I've had and I'm absolutely gutted!!! Where in Somerset are you for the pulley your a life saver if you could do this for me are they different mine is the 150 bhp model?

Hi all I have had the cambelt tensioner water pump replaced 2012 less than 8000 miles ago surely it can't be them? The work was done by a specialist using all oe parts! It's not a squeak its a knocking noise! Yes captain its the 10v with that engine cover I will run a scan now to see if it comes up with anything, I can pick the part up tomorrow if ok with you.

Just done a ecu scan had the following stored codes
P0704 clutch signal
P1555 accelerator brake coherency
P0235 supercharging pressure..
Japanese to me

My dmf is shagged longprest try putting your clutch in and keeping in there see if it makes a noise!

Hugh myles how am I supposed to get to Bournemouth where ever autolusso is with a packered engine by 9 o'clock? I have already diagnosed the problem on my car, don't know if if you read the posts but I'm also on a budget and have to do the work myself.

Thanks to the captain my problem is solved! Engine sounds sweet as a nut! I could shout from the roof tops, on closer inspection the rubber in side was totally shot wish I could post a pic to show you! Thanks again oh and for the other parts and the cuppa

Check your crank pulley yours is doing what mine was doing!

Have you removed the belt longprest? If not remove it and you will hear it let it run a little as the crank isn't under load and the noise will eventually come!
