Hard wiring my smartnav system.
Need a live and ignition.
When it was previously installed in my last 147 (6 years ago), the fitter wired it directly to the ignition.
I cant 'remember whiche wires though.

Kalvin, this unit needs both constsnt live , and ignition wired, to allow the GPS to work, I just fitted one to my 156, the ignition was yellow, but it seems different on Northiscool's 147.

I see, just trying to help.

Try this, may help:
http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-gtv-and-916-spider/260458-type-vr-push-start-button-for-gtv.html

Says-
"The thick red central wire is permanent 12 volts, the orange wire is switched 12 volts for accessories (i.e. when key is turned to the first position) and the other thick red wire is the switched wire carrying 12 volts for the starter motor (key on the second position to start the engine)."

So I'm guessing:
Red - live feed
Orange - Switched 12v (accessories)

Someone will need to confirm - I'm just repeating what I read

Well...
I've tried the orange wire - no joy.

This is what I've found:-
2 connectors to barrel.

Connector 1:-
Brown - Starter motor
Red - Constant Live
Orange - +12 at MAR

Connector 2:-
Yellow - +12 at MAR
Blue - +12 at MAR
Light Blue - +12 at MAR

I've tried Orange and Yellow still no joy.
Guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and pay the £100 call out
