Purchased my SIM card adapter yesterday, and as I was handing over £15 for my piece iof plastic was told that the ICS doesn't work with all phone networks.

This would explain the problem I'm having -

Could anyone tell me which netwrks are compatible with the 166's on board phone.

Many thanks

yup - it is only voda and O2 (GSM900 networks), although the virtual networks that use O2 (eg Tesco) also work...

Ics phone only works with 900 MHZ I think
in Holland only Vodafone and KPN will work
all 1800 MHz operators won't

I got frustrated with the moving of the SIM card all the time so I bought a cheap pay as you go SIM on ebay and I leave that in the car permanently. I then divert my handset to the PAYG SIM whenever I'm in the car, and it works a treat. These days it's not worth risking using the phone - mind you I don't see many squad cars on the road now - mostly HATO's in their "fake police" 4x4's. They still seem to scare a lot of people though

i think you can clone sim cards now quiet easily but this can cause problems if both sims register on the network at the same time :D
