IIRC it was two 1.4l turbo engines with custom gear boxes.

:lol: This forum does have a very good sense of humour :FWIW our internet filtering device at work seems to think we are in Germany. It is annoying and out of my control.
It made me smile since the Golf is German. It is a good lesson though. No matter what you drive there is always something quicker, even if it does not look it.
