It started playing up on friday, I reversed out of a car park space at screwfix hudds, tried to put it in first and there was a big delay before it selected 2, beeping and flashing. I then tried 'N' and nothing happened. Turned it off and checked selespeed juice, a little low but not bone dry... I give the car a shake (must of looked like I knew what I was doing ) Then turned ignition on and it was fine... Topped up juice when I got home. Yesterday all was good for most of the day then it played up again later on. It had spit some juice out but I thought I may of over filled it?
I only live 10 mins from Alfatech hudds but they dont touch selespeed???? So does anyone know anywhere localish to me that can take a look for me?
Cheers Chris

Hi thanks for your reply. I use "millermatic atf+4" (thats what miller oils recomend for selespeed) I've using it as long as I've had the car with zero issues...

My Selespeed came from your area and the car was serviced at 2 garages in your area.
Parrys , Northgate Huddersfield looks on the invoices like a Fiat/Alfa Romeo specialist.(Possibly used for warranty work so watch out for prices if he main dealer)
After that the previous owner used CW Lear Motor Engineers / Alfa Romeo Specialist
Rectory Row, West Lane Keighley. Phone 01535 664559. I phoned these guys about 7 weeks ago to ask some questions after I bought the Selespeed . They were extremely helpful, had the full history of my car on computer sent me its full history and never asked a penny. Its only 20 miles from Huddersfield so I would try them first.

When was the last time you had the clutch rod adjusted? It should be done at least every 12000 miles or 12 months.
Probably silly question but were you stood completely still before you tried to put in 1st from reverse.

Try and find someone with Alfa diag close to you and have the clutch rod length checked and adjusted. It takes less than 30 mins. Its basic selespeed maintenance .If you read the selespeed info on the sticky on here its all explained in there.
There are people on here with far more selespeed experience than me but I make it a point of fact to get to know as much as possible about cars I am driving. With a bit of luck there will be someone in Yorkshire with Alfadiag who will help you out.

I dropped my Sprint off at Lear's this morning and had to wait a bit while Andy chatted to someone about Selespeed problems! Was that you?!

Before you go anywhere check that your battery terminals are tight, also if you find someone with Alfadiag locally, check and adjust the clutch rod AND check the system runing pressure, your looking for it to stay over 45 Bar whilst not in use and not diping below 35 bar whilst selecting gears.
