i had recently sent my alfa 146 to an alfa dealer to get a diagnostic check as the car kept cutting out and the red key was flashing on the dash. they said it was the ecu and to replace it would cost £970 new. or £400 for a virgin unit. i said no and went to a local workshop who sent the ecu to wales and was decoded. the car will turn over but fails to start. the guy working on the car found this strange as he has done this on many occasions on both alfas and fiats and they usually start once the ecu has been decoded. any suggestions on what the problem could be. thanks

Is the code light still flashing? I presume that it now does not light up as it was "decoded"

Have you tried cleaning the BBoB relays next to the battery?

Also, what year is your 146 and what model is it?
