I've just put HIDs on the car. The £25 ones from ebay. Originally didn't work but I had to reverse the plugs so the wiring in the car must have been the other way round. I had tried all fuses and looked into the wiring so felt a proper tool when the answer was simply to unplug and rotate the bulb.

Just passed the MOT with them installed too.

As everyone says, the difference is massive, even over the upgraded bulbs that I had previously installed.

Not as good as a new car but far far better then the original bulbs. Easy and cheap upgrade.

I finally managed to get around to do mine a few weeks back too. Got to be one of the easiest & best upgrades going.

I've now got round to doing this. Got the 4300k kit from London Colour on ebay for £25.99.

I had to 'reverse the polarity' of both sides, by swapping the connectors over as per others on here, but really is a peice of **** to do.

so far so good (2 weeks) really helpfull to be able to see at night now on unlight roads

Cheers

Resurrection of post , Just changed one of my bulbs on the Spider (Halogen) as I have never changed over to HID as I have just been a bit of a lazybones .

I have been thinking on and off about LED headlights as they are just a straight switch but they seem to get very mixed reviews on Amazon and I can't see much discussion on here about them .
Has anyone got any experiences with these or is the best light upgrade still to go with HID's ?

I use Osram LED H7 Bulbs they are about £100 but they are the best ive ever used and they've passed 3 MOTs as they give a normal beam pattern

Wow they are some expensive bulbs , H7 , not a spider or GTV , were they an upgrade from HID ?
Ive had HID in the past, trying to fine a location for ballast and wiring was always a ball ache - LED from now on, im a total convert. You can tell a car with cheap HIDs but not LEDs if they're a decent set.

Totally agree, I have run HID's for 10 years now and no issues until very recently. Now considering LED's as an alternate to the ballast locator fiddling. Interested to get a recommendation from here for good experiences.

Oh and because we all run projector headlamps, they really suit being converted to HID/LED, much more than ordinary "reflector" lenses which are very sensitive to where the LED's are emitting from to focus the light.

What you going to do with them? I do need to replace my old set at some point.. :)
Let me root them out this weekend. They're in my garage somewhere (I'm sure they're easy to locate :-D) along with a car (not the Alfa) and if I find them again I'll let you know. Send me an address and a few quid postage and they're yours.

Well I took the plunge as Amazon had on offer on HB3 a set of led's for £6 ,500+ reviews at 4 star's, I know they won't the same quality as the osram £100 ones obviously but thought they may be worth a punt,.
The quality seems good they use a heat sink and mini fan , I just had to tighten the coller up a bit as they were a bit a loose , they have fitted in well and colour looks nice white and solid, initial impressions are good , haven't tested yet in pitch black but will report back if totally awful.
