Just over a week ago had a service done, plus cam belt, tensioner, variator changed and also Lambda senso, as I had some rough running and injector lights illuminating. It has now come back with avengance worse than ever. Could it be that the sensor fitted has knackered already or could it be something else? The car is very jerky, injector light coming on (especially when I come off the gas), and at one point died on me twice just after starting up.

Stu, I'd take it to an Authorised Bosch service centre, they can plug it in and do a full diagnostic to identify the problem and charge about half the main dealer price. You really could end up spending a fortune on this and get no where because I ended up doing nearly that recently with mine, to be told the car didn't have a fault at all !!!!!!!!

forgot also had plugs changed and 1 ht lead (all work was done at an alfa specialist). I had one little falter last Sunday, but had nothing since. Went to the NEC on Friday in it and there wasn't a problem at all, but on Saturday morning that is when the problems really started, and it has been tipping down since Friday night

Had the same on my twinny when it was raining. Sounds like water/moisture is getting in somewhere. Suggest you check everywhere for obvious problems but you may have to take it a diagnostic centre to find out which bit is playing up. Never cured mine btw, just waited for it to stop!
