Three weeks ago I sold my beloved 156 JTS Ti. I was a little worried about it ending up in ‘the wrong hands’ but buyer had owned three Alfas before and was very keen to own another. I’m happy it’s gone to a new home.

The next day I made a 200 mile wasted trip to see what turned out to be an unloved and very untidy GT Cloverleaf.

Then the indecision kicked in, I couldn’t decide if I wanted a GT or a 159. I soon realised that the only 159 that hit the spot for me was a Ti and as a good one was way out of my price range I crossed it of my list.

I spotted an Atlantico blue GT Cloverleaf Q2 for sale in Birmingham. The seller described it as ‘mint’ but the fact that it had already done 50,000 miles added to my 20,000+ annual mileage was bothering me.

The next morning, while searching Autotrader, an identical car popped up at Alexander’s, my local dealer. This one had only done 33,000 miles but was £1500 above budget. I made a call and decided to pop over to view the car, even if it was just to blag a test drive.

When I got there, the car was in the work shop; it hadn’t been prepped and was a missing wheel (being refurbished). However it seemed to be in very good condition so after a bit of discussion and a sizable reduction in asking price I agreed to put a deposit on the car with the balance to be paid after a full inspection and test drive prior to collection.

Thursday was collection day. I took my mate and trusted Alfa specialist Justin with me for the final viewing. The car looked amazing! - parked outside the showroom shining like a schit house door in the evening sun. After a quick but thorough inspection over and short test drive Justin gave me the nod and I couldn’t get my cash out quick enough!

So, I’m now the proud owner of a 58-plate GT JTDm Cloverleaf Q2 in Atlantico blue and after covering a couple of hundred miles in a couple of days a dark side convertee! :D

Thanks!

I definitely got it in the best colour. I always fancied one in Stromboli grey with 18" multispokes but in my opinion the one I have looks at least twice the car...

And it definitely exists, I can see it on my drive. :smug:
