I am in the process of getting both CATS replaced what sort of money should i be looking at aprting with here?

sorry just assuming you have a 156 whatever car you got just change the 156 in the address bar to 147 or whatever it is you got, to get parts for you car

which engine have you got?
105bhp 1.6 have one Cat
120bhp 1.6 & 150bhp 2.0 have three Cats.

i dont want to at all i have to i had a faulty coill which caused a mis fire and thus ruined the CATS!

Genuine new you're probably not going to get much change out of a grand. They are available pattern, about £300 for the front cats (maniverter) off the top of my head, but they can be a very poor fit.

Cataclean, catalytic converter cleaning fluid

IIRC garages have a process to de-coke a messed up cat, run the engine very lean for 10 mins or something like that, it will help if marginal on emissions. It was a few years ago I saw it being used so may not be suitable for modern cars, (it was a Metro, when was the last time you saw one of them!)

Has a garage diagnosed this as a consequence of emissions testing or was it a guess based on the misfire issue?
