Hi fellas,

Having seen the prices of the gta's recently, I'm just putting a few feelers out, dont really think I want to sell the car unless someone really keen offering a good price comes up. More a case of seeing whether the figure that I have in mind is reasonable. I just have a few things going on at the moment, need to decide whether the enjoyment I get from my car is worthwhile.

I know what I put it up for is not necessarily what someone wants to pay, but just after a few opinions. Spec of my car is:

147gta 2004 (on private "gta" plate)
Rare non-metallic black with black/tan combo
58,000 miles
q2 diff recently done
12 months M.O.T with no advisories, tax will be extended at end of Jan
17" teledials with pirelli zero's all round
xenons
recent cambelt, tensioners, impellor, clutch etc
Full service history, either at Mango's or specialists
All original documents including manuals, original Alfa wallet, key codes & £1000's of bills
Post April this year car should have full unicorse/wizard exhaust system

As above, just looking for a ballpark figure from people in the know for piece of mind.

I would put it up for sale at £9,500. For a quick sale I think you could get £8k but if you hold out for the right buyer £8,500?

All I would say is be realistic and price it to sell instead of putting it up at a massively inflated price and letting it sit in the classifieds for months like some of them on Pistonheads/Autotrader!

Agree with silvervalver - might be also worth making sure that the paintwork is perfect i.e. get the car detail cleaned to remove any swirl marks etc..

I'd recommend taking a clay bar to it and then applying supagard. I did mine a while back and the paintwork was like glass- that would impress any buyer. You can get all the stuff cheap on eBay

Sounds like a nice car - I would expect it to sell at the £8k region.

What has been said seems about fair to me. I love the thing to bits, its in my dream garage, the thought of selling it only entered my head because I'm not sure that I drive it as often as I should do, and over the distances that it deserves to be driven over. That and the fact that I feel that it is probably worth more than my current debts, which has been backed up by most of the opinion here. Little bit of thinking to do I feel.
I would probably advertise at £8750 in current condition (plus a detail), expecting to be knocked down accordingly.

sounds like a nice car and someone will get a good buy i paid £9500 from a dealer 12 months ago with full service history and 36k on the clock 12 months warranty witch paid off when the diff went

Ill take some at the weekend when I get the chance to clean it, missed out on doing it on Sunday which was a bug*er. When it was in at Autolusso the guys there said that they had never seen a flat black one, and im sure theyve seen a few!

I think you'd get about £8,500. 147 GTAs are going from £8,000 to £14,000 on autotrader but most of them are dealers price.

I noticed non GTA owners on here always say that they are worth less than what they are really worth. :tut: They are fantastic cars, going up or hold their value now and not for fainted hearts! :lol:

I wonder why 147 GTAs are being priced THAT much higher than 156 GTAs, even 156 GTA SWs?

I think its the desirability factor, small hot hatches are always more sought after, they always have been, Golf R32 or Passat R36? i know i'd have the golf! and although i love my 156 out of the GTA's 147 is the better looking GTA!

When i save the money, i'll be looking to spend between 8-10k on one in the 04-05 plate region.

hot hatches are brought by young boy racers like me with no mortgage, kids or wife and therefore lots of disposable income.

Smart, sophisticated saloons are brought by the family man, who prehaps has got a promotion and is therefore a cut above the rest. Unfortunately there are less of these people about to buy the cars and most by then have set their heart on a zafira.....
