I'm about to order a new genuine AR windscreen for my V6 Spider to replace the generic one it's currently got. I don't want to install it straight away because I'd like to get the windscreen frame resprayed first. Does anyone know how a new windscreen comes packaged from the dealer? Ideally I'd rent a small van and put it on the garage. In my mind it ships in a wooden box but i may be completely wrong. Can anyone help? I won't be able to order or move it if it's a naked windscreen with no real packaging.

Hopefully carefully !!

Why not ask the dealer (s) in question ?
Perhaps once paid for they can even store it for you until you are ready to fit

I actually had the same thought after I made the post. I'll swing past the dealer to pay for the order tomorrow. They won't order it from Italy until I've paid so a friendly face to face chat may get some good will from the parts manager.

I did not think you could still get genuine new screens for the GTV and Spider, however have not personally asked main dealer in UK.

Will be interesting what price they are charging?

+1 for slim chances of getting one and I would guess the price would be rather expensive

I contacted my local Alfa Dealer (Unity Oxford) last year and are still available, quoted around £600.

The price I paid at my local dealer was ZAR4677.40 ex VAT which works out to about GBP248. 600 Pound seems very steep. It hasn't arrived yet so I can't say for certain that they are available but it's definitely orderable.

Wow looks like we are totally ripped off in UK then, assuming still available.

So the windscreen is definitely still available, mine arrived today. It's pretty decently packaged so I'll get a whole lot of old pet blankets and put it down as padding in the back of a covered pick up truck and drive very carefully.

For anyone's interest sake it was actually alot easier than I expected. The windscreen comes very well padded around the edges and covered completely in a strong plastic bag. it's also light enough to pickup with one arm and I reckon it is small enough to fit into the back of most hatchbacks. I went to fetch it with a base spec single cab Toyota Hilux and it easily fitted between the wheel arches with space to spare.

I can also confirm that the genuine windscreen is still available and has the little AR logo in the corner.

On Friday I asked my Alfa Dealer for the latest price for a new windscreen while my Giulietta was being serviced and its £498 so it's looking like we are getting ripped off by Alfa Uk on parts. Well I already new that, as more often than not I can get the same genuine alfa parts from a Alfa Specialist for around 30% cheaper than a main dealer!.
