This may sound really dim but when I use my electric buffer I initially applied polish with a cotton cloth, dried to a haze, then buffed off the residue. This left me with a poor quality finish and little clumps of polish. I then applied, buffed with a tea towel and finished with the buffer.

So should I be using the buffer only for final polish, should I be using a different head or is it a poor quality buffer?

Is the buffer one of those £20 things from Halfords, if so, you might find it easier to apply the SRP by hand. Autoglym sell a foam pad for applying the SRP, not used it but apparently it works well. SRP is not very durable on its own so you will need to apply something else on top. The Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection is great and cheap although most waxes will also do a good job

I find srp to be alot easier to apply by hand, can be quite powdery if used with a buffer, so i have found.

Not tried the special pad for it though so that pad might make a world of difference
