Unfortunately, owning an Alfa is a labour of love. Sad to say,
the gist of what is at Honest Johns is right. Although, according to Lex Leasing, Citroen were slightly worse than Alfa in the reliability stakes. In both cases, there was an above 50% breakdown rate on new cars which is appalling.

However, I've had 11 Alfas since I started with an Alfetta GTV in 1986, and I will probably go on buying them....until I can afford a Ferrari :D

As I say, a labour of love...

check out the 166 review on there - it mentions that there was a TSB issued to change timing belts and tensioners at 36,000 miles rather than 72,000 miles

From what he's saying, my car isn't a TS and the newer 16v is as powerful as my car !!!
He needs to visit this site for the facts.
Quickrack only on later Sportpack models ???? Hmmm....
For information the 2.0l 8v is 143bhp, the 16v is 150bhp.

Na, they left it to the owners to sort out eek!

There is one I'm aware of so must be more. I think they were just completed at services.....perhaps? Manufacturers don't like the public to know about them do they :D

I did Motor Warranttes Direct for £2000 in 2001 when my engine went pop, which might have added to their ranking of the car
