I love my Lucea and totally bought her with my heart. However the error I made at the time was buying a silver car. It's a crap colour.

I've put close to 40,000 miles on in under 3 years and she is just starting to show a bit of age and needs a bit of investment. I don't mind spending the money on her but am wondering if the grass might be greener on the other side.

What kicked off my thoughts was this little gem in black with red leather.

So, it's black, which is much better than silver (and also reasonably rare) and red leather is very sexy! Plus it has 40K fewer miles than Lucea.

What you guys and gals think? Is it a case of better the devil you know?

Lol just kidding, lets face it it's all a matter of opinion. I do love my car and I like the colour Silver looks amazing with the cup kit which is what I evetually want to do!) however I have to say, after cleaning and polishing both my (rough) '97 TS and (not too bad '01 V6) the twinnie showed up the silver V6 massively :(

Mr Caine is right, my first 2 cars were black.....always hot inside, a nightmare to keep clean and showed up every little scratch but personally I would swap mine for an equal spec black version in a heartbeat

It was my donor car I sold a couple of months ago.
It had cloth seats then

Nothing wrong with your colour you just need to spend the day detailing it

My favourite colour for GTV? Dark Grey with red leather :inlove:
I took nothing off it, was intended as a long term donor for the other one, but got rid when I bought my SILVER V6 :)
Oh no, what have I started!

I can see that we'll spend a day detailing her and I'll have to backtrack and say how great a colour silver is (I'll agree that it does look good in direct sunlight).

Seller has several GTV's breaking so as Bradpitt says, a bit here and a bit there.....
Hmm interesting, thanks . However, I don't think I'll be going for it though, a bit poor at the moment :(.

I'm late to put my oar in, but my GTV is black with red leather interior and I love the way it looks.

I had it for several weeks (in fact, maybe over a month) before I washed it, and it didn't look too scruffy - so I don't agree that black is a pain to keep clean.

I do - slightly - prefer red GTV's, but only if you can find one that isn't faded. I was applying colour-restore polish to my last GTV about once a week in a desperate effort to make all the panels look vaguely the same shade. Pain in the ****.

And I'll say it now, I don't like silver on GTVs

But that's my personal opinion. Your car, so get what you like.

c'mon Starkers, if you are gonna change do it properly. :tut:

Some say silver looks like it has not been painted, black is a PITA 'cos it is always dirty.

If I was after a GTV to cuddle up to the spider it would have to be in blue with cream leather.

A bit like this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2002-02-A...5192458?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item35b4b7840a

or possibly this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2000-****...8622067?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4aae1b90f3

or in all honesty a V6 like this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALFA-ROME...4762740?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item27bd9aca74

or this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alfa-Rome...7905741?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item19c87e584d

Now get it sorted! :tut:
