Hi, I've been reading these forums for a couple of weeks now and it has helped me make my decision on a new car so thanks are due already
I should be placing the order for my first ever Alfa tomorrow... I have decided to plump for a MiTo (the new spec 1.3JTDm2 85hp Sprint version), I was torn between it and a 1.6 diesel Audi A1... the Audi is roughly the same price in SE Spec so long as you don't dress it up at all, it has a more powerful engine and similar MPG figures but it just seemed too boring!
Also, I'm trading in my 6 yr old Fiat Panda 1.2 (Faultless for 68000 miles) and wanted to stay with a Fiat group product as I've been so happy with it, I did consider another Panda but really wanted a change and also thought about the 500 TA but you see so many 500s around I wanted to go with something slightly less ubiquitous... I hope my Alfa owning experience is a happy one.
in Top Gear style, here's my full and extensive "car history"
1983 Austin Metro 1.0L
1982 Austin Metro 1275 Vanden Plas
1986 Mini Advantage 1000cc
1974 Mk1 Ford Escort 1100L
1986 Mk2 VW Polo (Square back version)
1994 Rover Metro 1.4CD (PSA Diesel)
1999 Rover 220Di ("Bubble 200", 1994cc 105hp L Series Diesel)
1986 Saab 900 Turbo 2dr (Classic 900, pre GM, 175hp 16v Turbo)
2000 Peugeot 406 110HDi
1969 Corvette Stingray Coupe (small block)
1996 Mk2 Renault Clio 1.2
2005 Fiat Panda 1.2 Dynamic
1988 Corvette
Quite a varied mix!
I still have the '88 vette for weekends (provided I can coax it through its MOT this week
) I'm vainly trying to offset my own carbon footprint by driving something more economical during the week!
pK
