Hi everyone, I have just joined - not bad as I am on my second 156! Dont know what took me so long. The trigger was looking on the web for some ideas for a cheaper service to replace my cam belt. Whitequay in Reading are quoting £600 for a straight cam belt job or £980 for the 72,000 mile service that includes the cam belt change. Anyone have any suggestions for a more cost effective approach around the Oxford, Reading areas?

Just had my cambelt and a 60k service done for £557 at Guests, Solihull. I know other users have issues with this dealer, but personally I've found them to be outstanding whenever I need anything done.

Might be worth you filling up with a full tank of fuel and heading up here to W.Yorkshire - my 156 had its cam belt changed and 72000service for around £420 at an Alfa Indi specialist in Huddersfield !

Thanks for the replies and the warm welcome. I have found an alfa specialist in Aylesbury who will do the cam belt for £320. So that is where I will be heading, then I will follow up some more of your ideas for regular servicing. Just have to think of something to do for 3 hours in Aylesbury!
