Hey folks!

This seems a good place to put my first post! I've just signed up after a few weeks of lurking as a guest - AO seems to be a pretty good place to visit, so I thought I'd sign up as a proper member.

I'm currently driving an 04-reg 147 2.0 lusso which is due to be replaced in a few weeks with a GT Cloverleaf - I can't wait, but in a funny way I'll be sorry to walk away from the 147 - its been a little belter!

I'm not new to the joys - and frustrations - of being an alfa owner. The 147 is my 4th Alfa. My previous "form" being:

1.3 Alfasud - modified for sprinting with an appetite for front tyres and RS Escorts!
33 Permanent 4 - How I wish I'd bought a good one!
145 Cloverleaf - great little car
147 - as I say, a little cracker. 4 years and 65000 miles and I still enjoy every journey
GT Cloverleaf - who knows? ;)

Nice Alfa "history" mate :)
Why thank you :)

The 'Sud was a real blast - apart from a set of alloys and loads of negative camber on the front wheels it looked like a bog-standard 1.3SC (Sounded a little different with twin 40's and a cam that didn't come "on" until 2500rpm  ). It was great at the traffic light GP as, provided you got the revs right and caught it on cam, it went like stink up to about 50mph. Handling was fantastic too - but I got to know my local tyre fitter on first name terms as the front tyres used to last a maximum of 9000 miles (I hear Alfa have reverted to this feature on the 159Ti ;) ). In short it was a big stupid kart for a big stupid 20 year old!

The 33 P4 was a real shame - I bought the first one I found. They were rare then - I dread to think how many survive now. I really didn't know what I was getting into. The car had a whole host of problems and cost a fortune over the years I had it. But I still loved on on the rare occasions that it worked.

I'll have to see if I can dig out some piccys of them to put here.
