I have a knocking coming from the engine area (i think)
It is only noticeable in 4th or 5th gear when sitting around 1500rpm or 40-50 mph. The knocking dose seem to increase in speed the faster i drive/ rev the engine not sure which. Its not that loud you probably wouldn't notice it with the radio on. Thanks in advance for any help!

Anyone got any ideas?
I had a good listen this morning and it dosn't happen when the car is at a stand still and i rev the engine, only when car is moving above 40mph, by the time i reach 60 the knocking has become too fast to distinguish from the engine noise.
Pretty sure its not rev related either.
Someone told me it sounded like it might be out of timing, but belt and tensioners were done 6 months ago

Sounds like a similar problem to me, i've booked my 156 into a garage in about a week, so i'll let you know what the outcome is as soon as i know!

Friends have suggested the front suspension bushes may be shot?

Good luck..
