What's drawn you to the inlet manifold are the error codes indicating that the problem?

An MCSF error popping up on the dash can be caused by all manner of problems.

if you're going down the swirl flap removal route you're probably better off getting one of the blanking kits off eBay and fit it to your existing manifold.

The garage didn't rip you off for VED (car tax) as it's no longer transferrable. If it was 'sold as seen' I trust the price reflected that?

All the best

ahh didnt know everytime iv got a car garage has always done tax good to know.. yeah did get her cheap.. but the amount to save her is more than I can justify spending as just had a child ..just bit odd a 8 mile drive home and boom manigment light ..the garage i got it off wont touch it..had a poke round and the rod off the top had popped off the swirls so tryed stickin it back ..fell off again seems to be cyl 3 that gets jamed so just removed the little rod below and jammed them open so yeah independent specialist scanned car before I got mes and verified but wants 300 odd for the manifold without fitting adding water pump and cam belt just over a grand with fitting ..been offered a saab manifold same part number off a friend but would have to still remove all the gubbens and get it welded up ... rather just pay for the manifold without flaps or seen a company that sells them removed .. wasnt sure how reliable they are.. okay to post links on here ?

I bought that exact manifold from those guys - it arrived a bit later than expected, and with a few stripped threads around the EGR port... But nothing serious and was in time to be fitted.

No issues with fitting thanks to Loz and the gang at Autolusso Bournemouth! That being said I was in for a cambelt/waterpump job at the same time, and ended up getting a new alternator and crank pulley too... So labour wise it was already pretty torn down to do all the other jobs.. Made sense to do it all at once!

Depending on what you've got fitted currently, there are ways and means of getting the old manifold off without disturbing the timing belt.
