Am trying to fit a new battery to my JTD and the terminal connector for the stupid battery housing seams a little too large for the battery connector - any suggestions on how to get a tight fit as I need my car tom and dont fancy a loose connection.

Help !!!!!!!!!!

Stupid question: are you sure you have the right battery?
+ve & -ve terminals are a different size and will be in different positions on different battery varients.

Yep defo right battery - got an Exide and it specifically said it fitted a 2.4 JTD.

I need some sort of spacer but dont know what the heck to use bearing in mind the voltage.

So the terminals on the battery are too small for the connections on the car?

Fixed it now - over 2 hours to change the battery !!!

What a ****-eyed design - had to remove one of the hoses to the engine to get to the +ve terminal. I then crimped the connector and removed the red plastic housing which was acting as a spacer on the terminal. It then gripped the terminal more securily.
