HI All

I am new so apologies to all on the forum if I sound daft!

Loved Alfa's all my life and finally brought the beast Alfa 159 Q4 3.2 V6 Lusso.......

So far I have had everything done to maintain this as best as I can including new clutch, serviced every 7000 using selenia star, four wheel alignment, air con re-gassed everything...... now as it has reached 107000 miles it developed a misfire on cylinder 2. After reading the net from many sites I have replaced the coil pack and plugs and the same thing is happening. so we swapped the coil pack and replaced all spark plugs. nothing. Still mis-firing

The codes coming up on computer are as follows:

P0300 Ignition faulty & Present

P0302 ignition Malfunction cylinder 2 & Present

I am now at a loss after taking it to my mechanic (local but very good)

Does anyone have any idea what to do.... I using advance fuel only and have not cut corners but this is doing my head in.....HELP!!

Have you had a search of the forum for similar fault codes and problems (also try the engine forum), not 100% with your engine, bu I would look at taking it to an Alfa specialist, there is one in Coventry (i've not dealt with them), otherwise, a trip down the M1 to AutoLusso or Alfaworshop is probably a good bet.

Thank you

The problem has been sorted I think. Basically the cylinder numbering is ?
Some people say the rear bank is 1-2-3 and the front 4-5-6

But others say it is 1-3-5 and the front 2-4-6

so I had them change 2 coil packs on both possible cylinder 2 and spark plugs.... So far no issue of misfiring....fingers crossed

In 156 V6 it was (if you look under open bonnet):

Busso's are:

123 rear bank
456 front bank

159 V6 is GM and they are:

246 rear bank
135 front bank
