I first joined almost a year ago when I was dating a guy with an Alfa ... well here I am 9 months later (no baby lol) but I am on the point of buying a Giulietta 2.0 JTDM 170bhp Veloce 2010 model and really need some advice on a few things before signing on the dotted line...

I did have a test drive yesterday in a 140bhp model and was seriously impressed :inlove:

Hello and welcome to AO.
Head to the Giulietta lounge, that question has been discussed there.
But to draw you a quick picture the 140 and 170 are very similar. You will notice the extra power of the 170 only when pressing on. Virtualy identical on relaxed driving and on city driving, even when economy is concerned. When pressing on the extra power the 170 produces makes the fuel economy a bit worse.
Hope that helped.
Enjoy the forum. :)

Hi, a warm welcome from the Lincs Mob !!!

We are quite an active little group here so it would be very nice to see you in the Lincs Lounge and at some of our Meets soon. Lots of these coming up, some great ones coming up over the next few Months.

Our next Lincs Meet is a Saturday Afternoon one at the Scalextric Centre near Spalding on the 25th February, great fun and usually well attended. Follow the Link for the full details.

After this we have what I think will be another great Saturday Afternoon out at the Newark Air Museum on the 31st March.

Our “ regular “ Meets are usually ( but not always ) on a Thursday evening and are scattered around the County and these are interspersed with our “ special “ Meets throughout Spring, Summer and Autumn. In the Winter I tend to go for Saturday afternoon Meets, the Scalextric Championship, amongst others, is a great afternoon out. We have a lot of Events coming up again during this year, some of them are just Beer and Chat type things but a lot of very special ones too, we don’t get bored here in the Flatlands. Keep an eye on the Lincs Lounge for full details.

You might want to add your details on to the “ Names, Locations and Cars “ Thread too, I generally don’t do this unless people “ask “ in there, don’t wish to give away any secrets !

Follow the Links to see what is going on and join in, I can pretty much say that you won't regret it. Apart from myself everyone else in the Lincs Section are very nice people.........

From the Lincs Lounge also follow Links and see what we have been up to in the past, some cracking Meets and some great pictures.

Don't forget to look at the " Stickies " right on top of the Lincs Lounge page.

Cheers,

Nige.

Thank you :)

Thanks for the lovely welcome and especially the links to the best places to visit on here - not always easy when you first join a new club/forum to know so that's really helpful

I should be picking my Giulietta up on 24th in Leicester so a nice slow run home for me :tut:
I'm really hoping it will be ready - finance all agreed and deposit paid but will pop along to the other section now to ask a question about wiring in a sat nav :)

If you're picking it up on the 24th what a better way to test it and get use to it than drive to Spalding for the Scalextic meeting on 25th! ;)

Picking up car

That would be a great intro so fingers crossed I get the go ahead for next Friday :D

The dealer is expecting the car in the showroom Monday or Tuesday and then having my sat nav hard wired into the dash (as discussed in the Technical thread) by their recommended tech at a cost of £65 which I think is good value if it saves the hassle of trailing wires or the sat nav falling off the mount - which happened to me on Saturday :(

Satnav ?

I'm quite happy with my 1950 AA one inch to a 100 mile papyrus system.......... It takes me to places that no longer exist !
