Just popped in to introduce myself, I am the proud third owner of a red 75 turbo America (1988) which I intend to bring back to shape after the last owner kept it in a garage for 8 years.
The issues I know are:
Some minor scratches on the paint
Head liner is hanging in places
Rear brake callipers need servicing, RHS is leaking badly
Synchros in 1st, 2nd 3rd are iffy
Gear lever needs new bushings
Turbo to manifold square gasket is leaking
Driver's seat LH leather patch was replaced badly
RHS electric window lift is sticky
LHS headlamp washer jet assembly missing - replaced by blank...
Speedo is dead but other instruments work
The car is air-conditioned but has no power steering which may be an issue.
I'm not sure power steering can be fitted to air-conditioned turbos... any ideas?
My aim is to sympathetically renovate it, keeping the body paint original and as much of the interior as is possible too.
After these issues are sorted I will indulge in a set of Ronals.
