Hello all,

and 2 days later, the cambelt snaps.
My local garage have said they'll drop in a new engine for a pretty good price, and i've seen a 1999 1.8TS engine going for a song. Will this 4 year age gap cause any problems, or is it a like-for-like swap?
Otherwise, what are my best options? I spoke to AutoLusso about a re-con of my damaged engine, but they're 180 miles from me in Mid-Wales, and the transport costs would almost double the repair costs. A couple of local hillbilly garages here have just said No Way to even looking at it.
