Hi folks

Tired of being quoted £300 to cut out and weld in a new flexi as new twin cat front exhaust doesn't exist anywhere.

I know some have gone down the modding cf2 front exhaust route. Can you share please how and where this was done? Im in the Thames Valley.

Many thanks.

£300 seems excessive. New flexis can be bought for about £30 on eBay. I’m not expert on welding but it shouldn’t be that expensive, I believe it can be done in situ without removing the downpipe. Alfaholicss make a replacement without the pre-cats. It ain’t cheap but should last. Going down the CF2 route will need lambda bosses welding into the new manifold or downpipe. Positioning of these and the angle etc is a specialised job.

Agreed, but thats the reality. Factor in labour and VAT two places that do exhausts quoted between £250 to 300plus. On that basis i doubt anyone will do the job for much less.

There must be a better way, not just the Alfaholics way which will also require the mid section. How does it work without the pre cats ? Does it already have connection points for the two lamda sensors on the car do you know?
