I ordered me one of these before Christmas and
finally went down the post office this morning to pick it up:

Powerlink, Hardwired MINI USB, and MICRO USB in car charger for mobile phones and GPS. Hard wire your in car phone charger.


It a small piece of kit about 1 x 1½ x ½ inch.


Got the one with the different plug in phone adapters but
seeing the tiny size of it am now thinking of putting it up
in the headlining near the sunroof/courtesy lights and
using it to power TomTom.....

just be mindful of how much current your TomTom can draw. my older 710 requires a 2A power supply (looking at the specs written on the unit).

in my GT, i hardwired a spare femal cigarette lighter plug hidden under the dash, then plugged the TomTom power pack into this, and ran the wire up behind the dash to where i mount the unit.

Good point I've got the 710 and it does pull a surprising 2A!


Ah well, will just have to use it for the phone and maybe try your
hard-wired socket solution for the TomTom.

I bought a similar thing a while back and connected it in just behind the cigarette lighter. routed the wiring behind the dash and had it come out behind the panel where the headlight adjuster is. Perfectly placed for plugging my TomTom in, and it seems to work fine doing so.
