I took up the Whatcar? offer to view the 4C at their studio. The car is in the UK for Goodwood and will be delivered up there to be on display Thursday and then to take journalists out on Friday. The product team were on hand to answer any questions who were interesting to chat to. Sounds like none of them had been allowed to drive it on the road yet, just on/off the trailer!

Quite difficult to get in and out of the car, very similar to an Elise with the wide sills.

Sorry for the poor iPhone images. I think it would definitely look better in red!

Thanks for this.. I ordered a red 4C LE but the car looks good in this colour..

And yes AR has not allowed anyone (except Marc Gene) to drive the car on public roads.

Hope the journo's take a few vids while being taken up the hill climb..

see they slapped a number plate on the back but didn't dare stick one at the front. Think a neat and legal resolution of this issue will be very difficult

I think the colour is fine, look good and to be fair external colours are subjective etc. however, the interior looks v cheap/nasty.
The photo is a bit unfair it didn't feel as cheap inside as it looks in that picture. It felt very snug, normal Alfa switch gear for the mirrors etc and 8C/Maserati/Ferrari style buttons for the gearbox. The stereo was a little strange and after market looking but it wouldn't power on without the key to look properly.

I did think the same, a number plate on the front will ruin the lines. Not sure why they put that plate on it as its not registered to the car.

I think the stereo doesn't look like the one shown in the brochure, as does the quality of the dash. I guess one in production AR will offer different trip levels etc.

Question for those who say in the car: What is it like for 6feet plus people and what quality are the plastics?

I sat in it, and it was quite alright (I'm 6 feet tall). It's hard to get into since it's low and the seats are practically on the floor, yet once you're in there, it feels cozy ;-)

Agree on the size. I am 6ft3 and getting is a bit tough but once inside no problem at all.

As for the plastics they are very basic but normal in a car of this type IMO

Are they Cayman quality? And to be honest will one of these stack up to a used R8/360 it is the same price (ish)

Porsche have developed a set of across-the-range interior parts common to all models . To a high standard. It's surprise that the 4C does not have some carbonfibre structural bits visible on the dash at least, to go with the sills etc. it would be nice surrounded with alcantara ...
I can see the steering wheel making its way onto the Mito or Giulietta .

These are completely different cars. The Cayman is a DD that is fun on track as well but the focus is firmly on comfort and DD.
the 4C is mostly a track car I would say that can be used as a DD. They focused on chassis technology and lightness....at a very low price point with that technology so they preferred not to spend the money on a better quality dash and plastics.
I love the car but obviously it is not a car that will please everyone!
As for a used R8 or 360 are completely different animals all together.
