Have a look at the link for starters.

If you do a Thread search on here you'll also find lot's of info and tips and potential pitfalls.

I think it's a bit of a pain in the bum and don't bother anymore, just put up with a bit of wind noise.

Have fun ! :)

i was going to sort the drivers side on mine too and also fix the spring in the handle.

my glass on both doors does go a little high so it doesn't pop into the rubber when closing the door and the drivers side does need the other angle adjusting. but in addition the glass wobbles (has play) when tried and there is an awful glass banging noise when opening or closing the window on most attempts.

do i need a new regulator or is something else wrong, feels like whatever holds the glass in place is loose aswell as the angle????

Wouldn't think that there's anything wrong with the Regulator Neil but I'm no expert. My windows operate pretty well but I do get a bit of wind noise, sometimes this can be cured by dropping the window a bit and then closing again. Doesn't always work though..................

If my window is about half down does give a slight rattle when going over rough bits of road but other than that it feels pretty solid and I don't get any nasty noises when opening/closing them so you may a problem there but have no suggestions for you about this.

Been a few Threads about wind noise and some people reckon the adjustment is easy, some like me think it's a pain in the bum. Lot's of people have done, or had done, the adjustments and find that not long after after they are back in the same position. Personally I just live with it now, I do need to do the lateral adjustment on the drivers side as there is a bit more of a gap at the rear than there should be but frankly I can't face it.

The joys of GTV's, still love mine and at least the bit of wind noise reassures me that I'm not going deaf !

i just picked my v6 up yesterday and im in love!! 1 fault is that on both driver and passenger side doors, when closed don't slot under the rubber seals. when driving i just slide them down and up again. then its fine, and when leaving the car i have to give them a little push to slot back in.
is this a common problem, and what shall i do?? worried about rain gettin in.

Sounds common. Mine fit fine until you open the window. Once open it wont close again. Catches on the seal and leaves a big gap all round. (drivers side only) Also has bad wind noise

Mine does the same if i open and close the window at speed higher than 80kph. It seems that wind pushes them out and when closing they go over the seal.
If they are closed properly there is almost no wind noise up to 180kph.

Maybe windows should be set so that they have more presure towards inside.

Well I just picked up my '98 GTV twinny this afternoon.

It's great, and I am in love, but as with any second hand car there are a couple of niggles.

I am getting a fair bit of wind noise and although the window seems to fit OK I do have this issue with the window not going under the seal properly when I shut the door.

The rubber looks a bit worn. Is it a relatively cheap part and easily fitted? (I'm talking about the rubber seal at the top of the window that is fixed to the car)

Thanks

Olly.

me too :) a '99, but close enough.

Same problem with the window fit/wind noise. Been having a chat with an Alfa specialist that is going to sort it for me, but the guide on Jamie Porter's web site covers pretty much what he said.
The rubber seals on the door edge are cheap enough, £20 or so, but the complete door seal that's a different matter, comething like £200 for a genuine one
