I'm looking for GTV V6 or Cup. Car needs to be in excellent condition with full service history, main dealer or specialist only. Q2, Exhaust and recent cambelt would be a bonus.

I know there are two cups for sale on the market at the moment but out of my price range by a couple of grand.

Good Cups are going for about £10k now. You'll get an equally good V6 for about £6k. You pays your money..........

Keep your eye on the Cup list thread as people usually post Cups for sale there. I spotted a cheap one in the back of Auto Italia magazine this month. Very cheap in fact. Quite original sounding but would leave you some cash for the upgrades you wanted.

Unless lucky, there's no such thing as a cheap GTV anymore.....depending on what standard you're after. Easy to spend double the purchase price, or more, on cheap examples nowadays.

Thanks for all the info and advice guys. I'm going to hold out for a Cup. It's the one I want. I have between 8-9k so pretty hopeful!

That's the one I described earlier in the thread. Sold pretty well immediately I understand.

Mitch seems to know more... as above posts.

I do agree with those above that no matter how you cut it £10k is the base price for a decent Cup. You either buy cheaper and spend a lot on work, or spend £10k and then just have more cosmetic work to deal with. I looked for a while and every car I saw was around that figure when you factored in all the things that were needed pretty well straight away.
A fully restored one with reasonable milage and new paint would be more than that I reckon.

Cup 31 on ebay. It was only for sale last summer in Scotland. Spotted a few months ago by Ross at Autolusso Bournmouth. It does seem to have a lot done on it since last year.
