Hi all

Just a few pics of my GTV Cup which i brought damaged, its Der Teufel's old car until he crashed it...

Anyway we start!

This is how i got the car:









A bit of damage then!
New bonnet and bumper + rads and a few other bits, cambelt, tensionrs, idlers, waterpump, droplinks etc etc etc!!

Being repaired before paint!

Painted!




So lets recap!

All repaired and good to go... Well i decided to turn my attention to the engine so:

This is how it started!




First up expansion tank, i used bleach and rice! Worked well!

So thats one bit down so lets take a look at how it is now:











Pretty damm manky!!!

So lets start stripping!

First of Changed the oil cooler to as it was leaking! Upgraded it to a 16 row version to get a bit extra cooling!

All stainless fittings! No more rusty bolts for me! :)




Going back togther!










Fuel rails painted and fitted



Chrome inlet runner cleaned and fitted!





Throttle body fitted







Now, we all know the MAF bolts rust up so i replaced with new stainless items too!! :)

New silicon inlet pipe vs old one!



Getting there!





I also fitted a catch tank to stop the engine breathing crap!!



Modified the airbox inlet to remove the old little boxes:



Plastic welded:





Well here we are!!

Fantastic story of the car coming back to life and outstanding work on the engine.

Would love to see the whole car in various shots/angles when ready to see if its gone/going back to the race trim look or more original spec.

Great job and I hope its all you want

I saw you yesterday in it, I was in my lorry and you were heading towards yours from Gedney Hill. Looking at your stereo set up I'm guessing you didn't hear me blowing my horn at you :lol: Looks good apart from that poo sticker down the side :p We're going to have to have a race you know sometime ;) Oh and whats happened to your kit car thing you built?
