Hi All
I have the dreaded abs light on the dash, I shorted the abs plug out under the bonnet which has given the following code 2 7 from the flashing abs light in the dash.

Anyone have a list of the ABS fault codes for the above model (Which is a phase 1)which has the 3pin plug connection or know what might be the faulty part from that number?.

Thanks

Thanks PKR
I finally found my cd version of the manual and read the the pages you have mentioned.
It seems the RH solenoid valve is part of the main unit N 51 the integrated electronic /mechanical control unit.
It mentions testing the solenoids for continuity (but not where the connections are) do you know if the solenoids are found at fault if they can be replaced individually or is the whole unit scrap?.

Thanks again.

Volume 1 of the manual ( section 33 page 4/4 ) says :
"The electrohydraulic control unit is supplied filled with DOT 4 brake fluid and with the solenoid valves not supplied".

That would indicate that the solenoid valves are serviceable but I don't see anything in the manual about how it's done.

I had just replaced an ABS unit because of a faulty Ecu, but the main body was OK. All you would need to is replace the ECU from your unit. PM me you are interested. but let me know the Bosch unit number to confirm.

These are the codes Earth Pin a of connector T8 which is a black 3 position unconnected diagnostic connector by the bulkhead on the passenger side.

Now turn on the ignition and count the ABS light flashes.

The first number will be 12 which is 1 flash, pause, 2 flashes.
then 12 another 2 times.

Now comes your fault code. The system can spew out up to 3 codes I think.

16- Faulty LH Solenoid Valve
17- Faulty RH Solenoid Valve
18- Faulty Rear Solenoid Valve
19- Faulty Safety Relay
25- Incorrect number of phonic wheel teeth
35- Faulty Pump Motor
37- Faulty brake switch
39- Faulty LH sensor front
41- LH front sensor not connected
42- Faulty RH sensor front
43- RH front sensor not connected
44- Faulty LH Rear sensor
45- LH Rear sensor not connected
46- Faulty RH Rear sensor
47- RH Rear Sensor not connected.
48- Insufficient supply voltage
55- Faulty ECU (ABS)

When you start getting 3 12s again it has finished.

Thanks Romek, Im going to try and find out if the solenoid is faulty first or if it is not getting a signal from the electronics if I can ,as it could be either mech/ or elec (or both).
I'll get back to you if I need that part.

Sorry for the delay in replying. yes I had to remove the brake fliud reservoir to gain access. It is poorly designed in order to remove the ABS cover/shroud whilst it is easy to remove it is awkward to re install due to the length of the hoses.
