Hi, I have some confusion on tires for the Alfa GT. I have 16 inch alloys on a the moment but looking to swap to 17 inch, 7.5j with offset of 40, looking at using 5mm spacers with them though.

I know I will need 17 45 tyres but it is the width I am a little worried about. Im not sure if 215 is needed or if 225 will fit. if 225 will fit, I will go for them for the extra width.

225 should fit without rubbing.

The 3.2 GT came with a 7.5Jx17 ET35 flavour fitted with 225/45R17's, your 5mm spacer should bring the shoulder of the tyre back out to the equivalent position as if it were a 35mm offset.

Great. I was a little worried about the width of the alloy but it seems to be a non issue. Saves be about £20 too. The 225's seem to be about £5 cheaper each. Looking at continental contisportcontact 5
