Started up the car this eveing and as I pulled out of the car park I heard a scraping sound that sounded similar to when the brake pads are worn but it only happened in first gear when at full lock left or right. Tried full lock in reverse and it didnt happen. There's also a white residue on the brake calipers but that could be a coincidence as had it cleaned and waxed earlier

Any ideas please?

Small stone trapped? - I've had this a coupla times

Maybe. It's a coincidence it started happening after it was washed/waxed by the valet place I use

A jet of water from a hose may have 'bumped' a small stone between the disc / caliper & shield?

It does make a 'terrible' noise - first time I heard it, I was thinking the worst :lol:

I agree, sounds like you've got a small stone trapped between the pad and disc.

Check your outer c.v boots for any splits or leaks just in case though!

Well the car is noiseless this morning (apart from the roar of the V6 of course :lol so it looks like it may have been the said stone
