I had the same thing in my first GT and it took me months to isolate it. Turned out it was exactly this. One missing rubber! :rant:one thing to check, is that the two rubber 'stoppers' are in place. when you open the hatch, they are positioned along the edge, nearest you.
Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I have one of these rubbers missing and had a look in the forum to see if it had been mentioned. Staggered to hear that the whole shelf was needed, but a search on ePer suggests this is the part numberI had the same thing in my first GT and it took me months to isolate it. I asked my normal dealership for a replacement and this is what I was told.
"Every single nut, bolt, screw and plastic bit is available separately apart from the parcel shelf rubbers. To get these you will need to buy a parcel shelf."
Also developed rattle but found it was the box of wheel nuts kept in the boot, rattling in the plastic. Turned the box upright, much better, removed to front seat - gone. So now I'm going to pack it with foam and return to boot.I had an annoying boot lid rattle, I found it by gently pushing the lid down when closed this replicated the rattle,screwed out the offside plunger 1/4 turn to ensure the buffer was compressed and the rattle went problem sorted
