Hi, picked up my 54 GT with 144k (yes 144,000) miles yesterday.
The condition is remarkable - I've never seen a car wear so many miles so well. Normally I wouldn't consider a car with such a legacy but I viewed it on a whim and had to have it. In fact I've wanted a GT JTD since I first saw one in 2004, so it's something of an ambition realised.

Anyway, first few questions - grateful for any insights please:

(1) The central locking / alarm. I have skimmed the owner's manual but can't see the answer: Is it possible to disable the beep on lock / unlock?

(2) Why does the GT JTD redline at 4500 'giri' (love it!) but the 156 at 5000?

(3) Lastly (I really should know this but look to the alfaowner for the definitive answer) is mine a JTD, JTDm, JTD M-jet or what? I realise it is not the 'modificato' but what should its designation be?

Many thanks - look forward to being involved.

Ben.

3 - They're all M-Jet. The JTD (CF3) and JTDm (CF4) differ in the injector design, the later engines have reduced emissions and are in a lower VED band.

Given the year yours is almost certainly a JTD M-Jet (CF3).

Can't answer your first two questions.

All the best
