I was just wondering the significance of all the parts of my engine number, its:

AR00530 S38902+

There is also a star between the 0 and the S, but i can't insert one on my keyboard

The car is a 1300 gt junior

:lol:Hi there Mr.A Hollis, the star between the numbers is just Alfas way of spacing out the numbers, all alfa 105 engines have these stars between the engine type (530)and the actual engine number, your car could be a 1970 bulit model. If you want to know more about your car such as when it was built and first registered and original colour,of paint and interior, send an email to Marco Fazio to [email protected] or [email protected] Make sure you quote your engine number and chassis number. Good luck and cheers Joe

The AR prefix stands for Alfa Romeo. The letter 'S' between the 00530 engine type number and the engine's sequential serial number, 38902, indicates that this is an EmCon engine (Emission Control). EmCon engines started appearing in late 1973.
