I am sure the engine noise has changed, a distinctive click/tick in time with the engine speed, as idling sounds louder than I remember. Any thoughts?

Well no replys, so no one has a JTS engine! But for info.....
The loud metallic clicking has gone since the 3 year replace of belts, Alfa would not approve any work on it unless it caused a problem. So sorted with my money, bit annoying I had to put up with for ages, but hope sorted now. :)

balance shaft belt tensioner is my guess, starting to get quite a common fault, had alot of 2 litres having this problem at work. the genuine alfa belt begins to stretch a bit when it gets hot and causes the tensioner to knock, best replacing it with a QH belt
