What is the going rate from a specialist to supply and fit them approx?

Also is it worth getting the break fluid changed in the process...if so how much is that going to be too?

the discs are scored really badly and the pads are done.

Turin Motors in Leeds want £210 to replace front discs and pads and another £30 to change the brake fluid

Alfa Tech in Hudds want £192 for front disc and pads and £30 for changing the brake fluid

is changing brakes and pads and fluid something any normal mechanic could do? or is it an Alfa Specialist kind of job

this may sound stupid but when they bleed the brakes and replace the fluid does the clutch run off the same fluid?

Result my old local mechanic who works mainly at a Renault garage during the day and has his own palce at night, has informed me that the dealership used to deal with alfas before hand, so he can do all that stuff happy days!

Ok I haved ordered from bypartsby 57 quid cant grumble at that, I called them up just to confirm, so thanks for your help with that guys! You wouldn't think i had a degree and **** lol

What brake fluid you guys recommend and how much do I need? I only see 500ml tubs of the stuff?

The pads are Mintex, the discs are not.

So the stuff has arrived, the Mintex brake pads state:
Alfa Romeo 145/146 94-01
Fiat Brava 95-02
Fiat Bravo 95-01
Fiat Marea 96-

But it is MDB2133

They only have one sensor?

I can confirm these went on no problem!
Thanks for the input guys...you lot saved me a bundle!
My mechanic said they still have all the specialist tools at the Renault dealership from the alfa/fiat days and said I was silly paying those independent prices.

He goes he can do the injectors (whenever they need doing) at a fraction of the cost I have been quoted by specialists as long as I get some recon ones from autolusso

Now all those bloody stone chips...they are the issue!

I Dont hear any grinding anymore! And the car stops better for sure. They are still bedding in, so won't be able to say for sure for a while longer yet.

Yeah disc and pad prices by specialists is crazy....I Dont get it lol
