59 plate GT, Recently serviced ..just driven from north to south of spain in one go..superb. Car parked in underground garage unused for about 6 days. Driven out ems light on. Any ideas what the problem could be. Car still feels the same when driving. Only driving slowly around town and back to garage. Could this be problem.. Rung local Alfa Technician in Cardiff. NEVER had this happen to a 1.8 twinspark!

The Engine (not energy!) Management light can be close to anything engine related.
You need it plugged into diags to find out why it is on.

Which engine does your GT have?

I did have a similar problem when I had my 147 2.0. I identified it as fuel from one petrol station - and it was only that petrol station. Apparently it was the Engine Management System identifying a single misfire, which could have been caused by dodgy fuel - perhaps a contaminant - and that triggered the warning light. After a certain period of time it would go off - usually about a week or 150 miles. I could only put it down to the fuel as it only did it when I bought fuel from that particular petrol station. I was really worried about it but the dealers asked a questions about noise and performance which were all as normal and suggested that I didn't worry, monitor it and if it did it repeatedly to take it in. But then again it depends on which engine you have.....
