Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help me? I recently had a bluetooth kit fitted by the local Aplha Romeo garage to my GT (2007). When the garage fitted it, they said the steering wheel control needed to be disabled in order for the bluetooth to work. Can anyone tell me if there is a way around this?

Also, having paired my phone to the kit, anytime I receive or make a call the volume on the stereo for the phone drops right down to zero and I have to hold the up volume button on the stereo for a good 10 seconds before I can hear anything. Does anyone know of a way of stopping this happening?

Thanks for all your help. This is my first post on the forum but it looks very good.

Thanks,
Stuart.

i don't know the answer to that, sorry. If you don't have any luck here try putting your question in this lounge-

ICE & Blue&Me - Alfa Romeo Forum

might get some more advice there :)

they must have done something wrong/missed something though if you have to turn the volume up each time to use it  ive just had a Bluetooth kit fitted in my GTA and i can still use the steering wheel controls aswell but maybe different makes/models are different :)

What kit is it?

Steering wheel controls do not need to be disabled.
Sounds like they bodged/broke something.

You need to set the "External" or "Phone" audio level
in the stereo settings menu to be VERY LOUD INDEED.
There are many many threads on here explaining why.

Bobda is absolutely right: if the fitter has just pulled the green plug out of the back of the head unit a 'y' connector will solve the problem. However if the wires have been cut, that might make it a bit trickier.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all your replies! The Radio is an "Alfa 937CD" and the Bluetooth Kit fitted is a "Meta Voice" kit made by MetaSystem. Will the Y cable Bobda has suggested above be OK for this (provided the garage hasn't cut the cables!!)?

Thanks again!

Yes! The meta system is the Alfa one - it will play your music via the Bluetooth link provided your phone is compatible! After the headset is removed the multi- colour mini iso connector will need to be removed and unclipped into the individual colours. Reconnect with the y connector and then fit the two green connectors into y cable. Put all the cables back into the head unit space carefully as the head unit is pushed back to make sure everything fits properly.
