Hi all,
Had a quick search on the threads but couldn't find a definate answer so apologies if this has been answered.
During the past few weeks the air temperature reading on the dash says -39.5 C which in turn I presume is not letting the aircon work. Its strange in that when I operate drivers/passenger side windows it changes to -37C and then back to -39.5C when I put them back up again. I've just had a quote from an Alfa specialist round the corner from where I work which was £150+VAT for the entire mirror and then labour on top.
Is there anywhere I can just buy the sensor as Ive tried a few places with no luck, and then fit it myself?

Thanks in advance.

ps. just wanted to say absolutely top forum, solved a few mysteries for me.....

Quick update. Spoken to a couple of breakers today who seem to think that the air temperature sensor from the 156 can be used on the GT. Has anybody had any experience with this or does it looklike a whole new mirror?

Anybody?.....

Big thanks to Laurence, Clive and Dan at Auto Lusso and to Riachard from AlfaBetta cars for racking their brains on this one.
There are no breakers within the Birmingham area that have a GT drivers side mirror for dismantling. Somebody else has said that the 147 temp sensor maybe used but has anybody had any experience taking apart the GT mirror?
If I have to spend £200 for a new mirror then so be it but I wanted to explore all other options first...

Hi all

Had to resort to buying a new drivers side mirror as after a bit of research it turns out the sensor comes fixed with the hinge. I had the new mirror delivered yesterday and it appears that there is no temperature sensor 'nipple' :) underneath the hinge.
Could anybody tell me if the newer GT drivers side mirrors have the sensor built into the mirror housing rather than on the outside?

Many thanks for your help everybody, much appreciated!!
