Hi detailing wizards!

I drive my GQV alot, and I drive it fast. At 63000km now its got this irritating pit/dirt eched into the windscreen that I cannot seem to remove, I've bought all the windscreen washers from various makes but they just don't do the trick.

I've now read that the last straw is to clay it?

Here is a pic of how fine those little pits are on the windscreen, at night and in direct sunlight it is a pain to look through, dare I say it is actually dangerous!

What clay kit should be used and how deep and long do i want to clay it for?

Give a medium clay bar a go (bilt hamber).

If you can get your hands on one, try a Dual Action Polisher and some glass polish to really work the product.

That should help.......... Maybe.

Clay will help if the marks are on top of the glass, if they are in the glass then you will really need a machine and some dedicated products like rayon pads and cerium oxide to remove them. If they can catch your fingernail then you are running very close to what can be reasonably fixed. You may be able to lessen some deep marks but may not be able to fully remove everything.

Start with the clay and maybe this will do the job.

That's the first time I have actually seen a successful window polishing exercise.
