Hi Guys, I have just completed 12 months with my GQV and covered just over 7600 miles. It mainly does short journeys with occasional longer hauls and I am wondering if I should have at the very least the oil and filter changed.

I know the service intervals are 18K miles or 2 years, but that seems a long time on the same oil it had when new.

I have not had to top up the oil at all while I have had it.

What do you think?

The handbook has some slightly garbled language but says about the QV:

"The engine oil and the oil filter must be changed when the instrument panel warning light comes on (see “Warning lights and messages” in “Get- ting to know your car” chapter) or in any case every 12 months."

For the smaller petrol engines it says:

"If the car is mainly used in cities or travels less than 10,000 km a year, change the engine oil and filter every 12 months."

If I was you (& I will be in a similar situation when get my GQV as my mileage isn't that high at the moment) I'd get the oil/filter changed annually.

Not for the QV, the 18K is for the M/A & TB engines only, it's 21K for the QV.

A 12 month oil change IS required if you haven't already had an instruction to change it on the display.

See below for the exact QV service schedule details :
