Hi guys i posted a thread about my dodgy second gear and how it needed a new gearbox and its all been fixed now :) service from alfa was brilliant the new gearbox arrived on time and i arranged for my car to go in today to get it fitted. Had a courtesy car and was expecting the car to be in for at least 2 days but at 5 pm the car was ready:) so i was happy they even dropped it off and wavered the £10.00 insurance thingy for the courtesy car. BUT the clutch feels odd it didnt feel this odd the morning i fropped it off? the clutch travel was far to low but all the gears feel brilliant! first and secong are so smooth now. The clutch pedal feels normal after about ten mins worth of driving but when i get in the car its so soft its difficult to describe but it is just odd? Is it worth ringing my dealer back up to ask them why it feels odd or will the clutch get more normal after a while? I just got the car back and do not really want to part with it again:confused:

Right just been on the phone to alfa the mechanic thinks there may air in the system thats why the clutch pedal feels better after you drive it for a bit! My dealer are sending someone down to pick my car up and take it back to get bled! So far they are bending over backwards to help me and have been so nice and helpfull.

Good example of how service should be from the dealer network. It's reason like that customers trust them and return.

Care to name them?

Well beechdale alfa have been brilliant the mito was delivered back to me after having the clutch system bleed. Everything is tickity boo etc etc I noticed a cool thing when the car was being reversed the alfa driver was blipping the throttle and the mito sounded awesome it had a throaty rasp and even the driver told me he hadnt driven a mito 155tb in a while and he forgot how quick they feel. The car feels transformed with the new gearbox it just feels really quick and the gears are now really smooth:thumbs:

Worth a phone call to Alfa UK to praise the dealership. I bet they don't get that type of call too often. Shame about your feelings on the servicing costs. Why not ask them to quote for a service anyway, then say you'd like to use them but it's a little expensive & see if they can reduce it a little?

I'd rather pay abit more & give my money to a dealer like that than let them go under & fund a mediocre one instead.
