Having spent most of my life on the motorway this year, I have noticed that nearly every 147/156 I see has one or both handbrake cables unsecured and waiting to get ripped off!

It seems like 3 in four cars have a bolt missing.

Please go have a look under your car.

Go-on, do it now.

I do seem to have a cable hanging down now which I didn't before so I assume a bolt has fallen off. Not done anything about it yet though but it does rattle off the underside of the car a bit during motorway driving.

Not looked to figure out what it is but it could well be this.

Don't have to, as both my corroded cables were replaced before the MoT last week.

Yup i've got a cable handing down under mine which i notied some time ago. Dunno what its for but had a look under to see whats going on and it appears there a bolt or attachment broke.

Any cheap ideas of how to reattach it would be good :) looks a bit naff hanging down.

You can buy p clips from Halfrauds (shaped like the letter p) and new bolts.

Much better than buying new cables!
