Did your paid valuation include any optional extras over base model?

I would say that the paid valuation is further from the mark than the free valuation if you are really looking to shift.:(

It is a buyers market and 2nd hand valuations are the worst i have ever seen for big engined cars due to cost of living, insurance, petrol etc, etc, etc. ......imo.:)

I got someone in the trade to get me the prices of an excellent condition 2008/58 reg Alfa 159 Ti 2.4 JTDm Sportwagon (210 bhp) with average mileage. I don't know if the prices came from Glass's or CAP but they came out as follows:-

  • Trade-in Price: £12975
  • Dealer Retail Price: £14525
If I use the link given above, it gives significantly lower prices:-

  • Part Exchange Price (excellent condition): £11150
  • No Dealer Retail prices are given on that site but using the same markup of 12% from the official Glass's/CAP prices then the Dealer Retail Price would come out as £12488.
If you look at current dealer prices for this model they are closer to the official Glass's/CAP guide (although generally still higher than those even) than they are to the prices given at that link.
