Paint

Paint code/spec for the dark grey Turbine wheels is 693/B, Grigio Anthracite Diamonte

Engine

Specific failure of the MA unit on 1.4 engines. The thread also highlights:

1) Requirement to run specific diagnostic to determine MA unit failure, rather than removing the cylinder head.
2) Current goodwill payments provided by Alfa UK toward cost of replacement, even though the car may be out of warranty.

Gearbox

Recently changed the gear position lever sensor. Turned out to be two broken wires. It should be possible to repair the wires in situ as from what I can see the sensor is based on the Hall effect and a sloping metal strip and therefore needs calibrating if disturbed. The new one (£66) comes with a locking clip that's removed once in position. Number for the sensor is 0055228312-001. I suspect the -001 indicates a modified version.

The linked supplier is able to supply the repair kits (SenCom) for both sides of the hatch. Cost: €150 including VAT and postage (the pair). I have ordered mine for when, not if, I need them. Were available from a different supplier on eBay and Amazon, but no longer. Includes connectors and rubber trunking.
Part numbers are: SenCom 503015 and 503016. Available individually.
Genuine kit from Alfa dealers is about £400 on eBay.

Well I have done a bit of looking and found that the handle is made/distributed by Miraglio in Italy. Their part number is 60/181 and AR {whole panel I think} is 156092165 (for right hand side). There are two on eBay from the same supplier in Italy but are not cheap! (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Handle-door-opener-internal-front-right-Alfa-Romeo-Giulietta-Adattbile-/252674341253?hash=item3ad4907985). The Miraglio site also shows how to change the handle and this is the link:-

Hi, I think this sensor is going to be on my to do list..........what's involved in changing it???
Quite straightforward:-

Access to the gear lever from top, gaiter moved out of the way. From underneath exhaust pipe unclamped (and hanger released) and moved to the side to gain access to a plastic box and to remove a heat shield, on mine that used pop-rivets in two places and were removed by drilling the heads off. Most difficult bit is threading wires back and that's not really difficult, just awkward. Ensure gear lever is in neutral position. The black clip portion of the slider (that's shown at the bottom sticking out to the left) can only go in one place then the yellow clip slides in. Pull the red retaining clip out of the way once sensor is definitely in place.
