Hi my giulietta 1.6jtdm has just failed its mot due to the engine management light being on this is down to the gear position sensor.Before I jump in with both feet and being had on a couple of occasions by local garages could someone give me a rough idea of what I should expect to be paying for this to be done

Mine failed on my first Giulietta at about 40- k something miles and the dealer hardly charged anything. A case of reconnecting the wires and no new parts. There are threads on here that describe the repair which you may be able to search but don’t have gear-position sensor in the title.

Alfa Workshop charge £186 including the part, which is £60 on its own. That’s if the wires can’t be reconnected as cue says.
