Hi all,

A few weeks ago I stalled my g and an engine light came on.

Decided to by my own tool to diagnose and clear

The codes I have are as follows
PO490 -
PO487

They seem to be EGR issues so I wanted to ask thoughts any experiences and what the issue my be.

Also how much it my cost to repair

if they both come back I'd check the EGR wiring and the plug especially. If not that, it's a new valve als the fault is electrical.

Not related to stalling, except that a stuck open valve can stall the engine.

Thanks for that!

So not managed to get in to look my self but in the last few weeks I have noticed a rougher sounding engine especially with the cold and reduce in MPG. I have also noticed that the coolant level has lowered at an alarming rate! Went to my local Bosch garage explained all this , they did not look at he car but have said it is most probably a new valve needed. They have quoted £225 to get this replaced. Is that acceptable or should I go to someone else?

Cheers

It is possible that the EGR has failed internally and is allowing coolant from its water jacket back into the engine.

Pretty unusual problem though, EGR failures on the G are rare. It is usually just the cover which cracks causing a visible leak.
